Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Copilot Licensing From One Partner: Why One Invoice Beats Many

Written by:

Is your Outlook and Office licensing with one partner, your business apps with another, and your Azure bill with a third? You’re not alone. Many mid-size companies buy Microsoft in pieces, and they pay for it in time, complexity and licenses nobody is watching.

Bond Consulting Services (BCS) is a Microsoft CSP partner (Cloud Solution Provider) for mid-size businesses. BCS helps businesses consolidate Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure, Power Platform and Copilot licensing under one partner. And because we also implement and support Microsoft business applications, we understand how those systems work together.

Why managing Microsoft licenses across multiple partners gets complicated

It usually happens gradually. An IT provider set up Microsoft 365 (still called Office 365 by many) for email, Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. Years later, an ERP or CRM partner sold you Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics 365 Sales. Then someone added Azure, Power BI or Copilot.

Now you have:

  • Multiple invoices in different formats, often from different vendors.
  • Different renewal dates that are easy to miss and hard to plan around.
  • No single view of your licenses, so unused seats and duplicate subscriptions go unnoticed.
  • Support that bounces between providers when an issue spans Outlook, Teams and your ERP or CRM.
  • No one advising on the whole picture, including new costs like Copilot.

Consolidating licenses doesn’t automatically lower Microsoft’s prices. The potential savings come from identifying licenses you’re not using, avoiding unnecessary overlap and choosing subscription terms that fit your business.

What a Microsoft CSP partner does

The Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program lets authorized partners sell, bill, and support Microsoft cloud licenses directly. Instead of buying from Microsoft and managing it yourself, you work with a partner who handles the licensing, the billing and the first line of support.

BCS does more than sell Microsoft licenses. We also implement and support Dynamics 365 Business Central and CRM/Customer Engagement applications, so the team managing your licenses understands how your Microsoft 365 tools, ERP and CRM work together.

Consolidate Microsoft licensing on one invoice

With BCS as your Microsoft CSP partner, you can consolidate Microsoft licenses for all of these on one invoice:

CategoryWhat’s Included
Microsoft 365 (Office 365)Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
Business ApplicationsDynamics 365 Business Central (ERP) and Dynamics 365 CRM (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service)
Data and CloudAzure, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI
Automation and AIPower Platform, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio

Consolidating your Microsoft licensing makes it easier to manage subscriptions, track renewal dates and get support. BCS also reviews how your licenses are being used to identify unused seats, overlapping subscriptions and plans that may no longer fit your needs.

Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 licensing: annual vs. monthly billing

Microsoft offers different commitment and billing terms, and the choice affects your price. Since April 1, 2025, Microsoft charges about 5% more when you pay monthly on an annual commitment instead of paying for the year upfront. Monthly commitments typically cost more again in exchange for flexibility.

The right answer depends on how stable your headcount is:

  • Stable teams usually save by committing annually and paying upfront.
  • Growing or seasonal teams may want a mix: annual terms for core users and monthly terms for flexible seats.
  • Mixed terms are easier to manage when one partner helps you track commitments and renewal dates.

BCS reviews your Microsoft 365 licensing, Office 365 plans and Dynamics 365 and Business Central licensing together, so the billing choice fits your whole business, not just one product line.

Copilot licensing: Copilot Studio prepaid credits or pay as you go?

Copilot is the newest line on many Microsoft bills, and it has its own decisions. Microsoft 365 Copilot licensing is per user. Agents built in Copilot Studio use Copilot Credits, which measure the work an agent does, such as finding information, answering questions and running actions.

For Copilot Studio, Microsoft offers three main ways to pay:

OptionHow it WorksBest For
Prepaid CreditsMonthly capacity subscription; unused credits don’t carry overSteady, predictable agent use
Pay as you goBilled monthly through Azure for credits actually used, no upfront commitmentPilots, early adoption and uneven usage
Annual prepurchaseOne-year prepaid pool of credits usable across eligible Microsoft productsCommitted, organization-wide AI spend

Certain agent interactions in Copilot Chat, Teams and SharePoint are included for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, without additional Copilot Credit charges. Other usage may incur charges, so understanding how employees will use agents matters when choosing a billing model.

BCS helps you estimate usage, select the right billing model and monitor Copilot Credit consumption as adoption grows. We’ll also show your administrators how to track usage and manage spending.

Microsoft licensing FAQ

What is a Microsoft CSP partner?

A Cloud Solution Provider is a Microsoft-authorized partner that sells, bills and supports Microsoft cloud licenses. BCS is a CSP for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure, Power Platform and Copilot.

Can I buy Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 from the same partner?

Yes. BCS licenses both, along with Azure and Copilot, so they can all be on one invoice.

How do I consolidate my Microsoft licenses?

Start with a license review of every Microsoft subscription you have and who it’s with. BCS, a CSP partner, can review which subscriptions are eligible to transfer, coordinate the transition around existing commitments and consolidate billing where possible.

Can I switch Microsoft CSP partners without losing my licenses or disrupting service?

Yes, switching Microsoft CSP partners is possible for eligible subscriptions without disrupting access to Microsoft services. The process depends on your existing agreements, subscription types and renewal dates. BCS reviews your licensing and coordinates the transition to help maintain continuity and avoid unnecessary overlapping charges.

What’s the difference between Office 365 and Microsoft 365?

Microsoft renamed many Office 365 plans to Microsoft 365, but both product families still exist. Microsoft 365 plans can include additional security, device management and other features, depending on the subscription.

Is it cheaper to pay for Microsoft licenses annually or monthly?

Paying for an annual commitment upfront is usually the lowest price. Microsoft charges about 5% more to pay monthly on an annual commitment.

What are Copilot Credits?

Copilot Credits are how Microsoft measures Copilot Studio agent usage. You can buy them as prepaid capacity, pay as you go through Azure, or prepurchase a one-year pool.

Can consolidating Microsoft licenses save money?

Consolidating licenses doesn’t automatically reduce Microsoft’s prices, but it can help uncover unused subscriptions, overlapping licenses and opportunities to choose more cost-effective plans or billing terms. BCS reviews your licensing to identify potential savings.

Can one Microsoft partner manage Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Azure?

Yes. A Microsoft CSP partner with the appropriate licensing capabilities can manage subscriptions across Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and Azure. BCS also provides Dynamics 365 implementation and support services, so your licensing and business applications can be managed by a team familiar with both.
