Business Central Licensing Price Increase Coming – Nov 1, 2025!

As of November 1st, 2025, Microsoft is upping the monthly licensing costs for Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). Although they haven’t raised the cost of these licenses in several years, the increase will affect any organization’s 2026 budget that is currently utilizing BC as their ERP system. Essentials and Premium Licenses will increase by $10/user/month. Device Licenses will increase by $5/device/month. Team Members Licenses will have no increase.

Anyone buying new licenses after November 1st will pay the new prices immediately. For those customers already under a subscription term, the price increase will take effect on your renewal date.

What’s Changing with Business Central Licensing

Along with the price adjustment, Microsoft is also increasing the amount of storage included with each license type:

  • Essentials: 2GB → 3GB
  • Premium: 3GB → 5GB
  • Device: 1GB → 1.5GB

This update is part of Microsoft’s effort to align Business Central pricing across global markets and reflects their continued investment in new capabilities like AI features, deeper integration with Microsoft 365, and expanded cloud resources.

How the Business Central Price Increase Affects Your Organization

Even a small adjustment adds up quickly:

  • A 25-user Essentials deployment will see about $250 more per month ($3,000 annually).
  • A 50-user Premium deployment will see about $500 more per month ($6,000 annually).

Steps to Take Before the November 1, 2025 Price Change

  • Have BCS perform a licensing review with you. We’ll make sure the current type and quantity of BC Licenses still fit your organizational needs.
  • Know your renewal date. If it is prior to November 1st, make sure you renew to lock in the current price.
  • Factor the price increase into your budget. While not dramatic, it will impact both year-end and 2026 planning.
  • Contact BCS with any questions, concerns, or assistance in navigating the price increase.
